Earlier this month, the House Energy & Commerce Committee asked 33 cable, phone, and Internet companies to explain what information they collect from users and how this data is used to provide Internet advertising. Today, we submitted our response (view the letter).

In our reply, we addressed the committee's questions by describing how our advertising products work and we reiterated our support for a comprehensive federal privacy law and self-regulation by online advertising companies.

We appreciate the committee's continuing interest in protecting consumer privacy, and we welcome its efforts to learn more about the privacy protections that we offer our users and the practices of the Internet industry generally.
